Nice success also at EuroVis 2011!

In early June, 2010, our paper ''Toward a Lagrangian Vector Field Topology'' (publ. by R. Fuchs, J. Kemmler, B. Schindler, J. Waser, F. Sadlo, H. Hauser, and R. Peikert in Computer Graphics Forum, Volume 29) will be presented at the EuroVis 2010 conference in Bordeaux, France.

Very nice indeed that SemSeg is already present at the first EuroVis, i.e., Europe's most important visualization conference, after its project start in June 2009!

Related materials are available from the results page.

Nice SemSeg contribution to Eurographics 2010!

On 7th of May, 2010, our joint state-of-the-art report ''On the Way Towards Topology-Based Visualization of Unsteady Flow - the State of the Art'' (publ. by A. Pobitzer, R. Peikert, R. Fuchs, B. Schindler, A. Kuhn, H. Theisel, Kr. Matkovic, and H. Hauser in the State-of-the-Art Proceedings of Eurographics 2010) was presented by Armin Pobitzer, Benjamin Schindler, and Alexander Kuhn at the prestigious Eurographics conference in Norrköping, Sweden.

Additionally, another paper (''Uncertain 2D Vectorfield Topology'' by M. Otto, T. Germer, H.-Chr. Hege, and H. Theisel, publ. in Computer Graphics Forum 29(2), 2010), where SemSeg was involved, was presented at the same conference.

It is really great to successfully publish at this so very competitive conference!

Successful first User Forum Workshop!

On April 29, the first SemSeg User Forum Workshop was organized with success in Vienna, Austria.  On this interesting day, four selected case studies have been presented and discussed.  Four partners from the User Forum participated in the workshop and contributed with interesting suggestions and input.

Excellent contribution to the IEEE VisWeek 2009!

On 14th of October, 2009, our paper ''Predictor-Corrector Schemes for Visualization of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Data'' (publ. by B. Schindler, R. Fuchs, J. Biddiscombe, and R. Peikert in the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, Vol. 15, No. 6, 2009) was presented by first author Benjamin Schindler at the prestigious IEEE VisWeek 2009 conference in Atlantic City, NJ.

Additionally, another paper (''Visual Human+Machine Learning'' by R. Fuchs, J. Waser, and M. E. Gröller, also publ. in IEEE TVCG 15(6), 2009), where SemSeg was involved, was presented at the same conference.

We are happy about this great success and congratulate the authors!

Joint SemSeg state of the art report

All four partners of the SemSeg project have compiled a joint state of the art report (STAR) that attempts to cover a larger number of papers that relate to the research focus of the SemSeg project (4D space-time topology for semantic flow segmentation).  The next step wrt. this STAR is to submit it for a possible publication.

First deliverable submitted to the Commission

We have submitted the Quality Plan of the project to the European Commission as project deliverable Del 1.1.  The first deliverable of such a project is always something special, it's kind of the first achivement of the project and thus we are glad to see the project going.
